When

The Krazy 8 Race will take place April 17, 2010 and will feature three events:

• Kids Half Mile: begins at 09:00 AM
• Kids Full Mile: begins at 09:00 AM
• 8K (4.4 Mile): begins at 09:30 AM

Where

Race day registration, the expo and the kids free-of-charge childcare area will be held at the Kid's Little Smiles office located at 2202 Hualapai Mountain Road in Kingman, Arizona. Kid's Little Smiles will also serve as the starting point for all three events.

The Course

There are three individual courses, one for each event (the Half Mile, Full Mile, and 8K). All three courses begin and end at Kid's Little Smiles. The Kid's Half/Full Mile run will be started in waves.

The 8K is a crazy fun run through Slaughter House Canyon which includes some very challenging hills, nice straight-aways and magnificent views of granite bluffs and the canyon. Don't worry, the course is definitely crazy, but it's also well marked.

Water Stations

There will be a water station for each of the kids races as well as three water stations on the 8K course serving water and sport drinks as well as encouragement.

Awards

• All children participants in the mile and half mile receive finishing awards.
• Trophies will go to the 1st, 2nd, 3rd place male and female overall.
• Trophies will also go to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place male and female Master (over 40 years old) overall.
• Medals will be given to top 3 male and top 3 female finishers for each age group.

The awards ceremony will be held after the race at the nearby KFC / Long John Silver restaurant.

Special Awards and Prizes

The Krazy 8 also offers two very special prizes to promote school involvement and spirit. The local school that has the most students cross the finish line receives a $500.00 prize to be applied toward their physical education program. Additionally, the local school that displays the most school spirit receives a $500.00 cash prize to be applied toward their physical education programs.
